Projects Willing Hands are involved in two significant projects at the moment - Addo Township and Resurrection House - but as we grow and raise funds so will the scope of our work. The main requirements that underpin a project we take up are: Is there an Africa connection? Our work is exclusive to the continent of Africa but that's a big chunk of land (11 million square miles) and 955 million people as of 2008 so there's plenty to go at. Is there an HIV AIDS issue? HIV AIDS is literally killing millions. In South Africa alone where treatment is scaling up, they will be unable to prevent one million deaths between now and 2010. That's in a population of nearly 49 million. Does it sit with our aims and values? You can see our aims and values in detail on this site. We're guided by a strong Christian faith which underpins our decision making about the projects we support. We aren't exclusive and seek to co-operate with people of all faiths or none to make progress with our aims. Some things are just too important to allow differences to get in the way. |
